The Lubbock Chamber of Commerce’s 2018 Business Expo may be in a different month this year, but chamber President and CEO Eddie McBride said attendees can expect the same great event.
The annual event will be Jan. 19 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center, 1501 Mac Davis Lane. Over 150 exhibitors will be featured and thousands are expected to attend.
Tickets are available for $5 at the Lubbock Chamber of Commerce office at 1500 Broadway #101 before Friday. Tickets will also be available for $10 at the door.
The event is for people other than just those in the business community, said McBride. He said the largest business expo on the South Plains offers an opportunity for citizens to see what business are new or changing, and remind them of others they may not have visited in a while.
“This is not a specific show. This is a variety of businesses,” McBride said. “A smorgasbord, if you will, of business opportunities.”
For those in the business community, though, McBride said the expo gives entrepreneurs the chance to connect and do business with other local companies.
The expo is normally in May, which is often a busy month of people, McBride said, which prompted the change. He said January is not his ideal month either, and the chamber hopes to move the expo to February or March in the future.
